Our community TNR program is paused until further notice. We are not accepting or maintaining a waiting list at this time. Please contact other rescues, shelters, low-cost clinics, or local animal services directly. When our program becomes available again, we will announce it on this website and on our Facebook page.
What is TNR? Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) - TNR is the humane process for trapping community cats, having them spayed/neutered and vaccinated, ear-tipping them for identification, and returning them to their outdoor home. This prevents unwanted litters, reduces nuisance behaviors, and improves the cats quality of life
Purr Heaven Sanctuary continues to support TNR efforts in Powhatan County on a limited basis. Our ability to assist depends on available spay/neuter appointments, funding and other resources. We cannot guarantee appointments or assistance with every request.

Our TNR Process
When Purr Heaven is able to assist with a TNR request, community cats are humanely trapped, transported to vet clinic for appointment, given appropriate recuperation time, and returned to the property where they were trapped.
Purr Heaven Sanctuary does not take kittens through our TNR efforts. When kittens are humanely trapped, they are returned to their caregiver. Rehoming or adoption remains the caregiver's responsibility.

Purr Heaven Sanctuary is operated entirely by two people and relies on donations to support our work. Donations towards TNR help offset veterinary care, transportation, trapping supplies, and other expenses associated with helping community cats.
